The Peter Martin Ray vineyard is essentially the birthplace of California Pinot – among the first to be planted with the grape in 1940, many modern plantings are made from material taken from here. History! The dry-farmed vines hang on for dear life to the rocky, exposed  mountainside, on shale soils. 100% whole cluster, this has aromas of native chaparral and baking spices, while the fruit is all cherries, sitting on a solid, earthy structure. Wondrous. ABV: 13%
