The first thing that stands out is of course the very chic gold finish, which is not only beautiful thanks to the Journeyman Relic, but also feels like a real piece from the mid-century. In terms of sound and playability, however, it is a lot more in the now. The Compound radius of the Maple neck ensures that your open chords feel just right, and if you re venturing higher up the neck, the flatter radius provides extra comfort in your bends. A nice detail is also the contoured heel, which gives you even more access to the higher frets. And then there are those fantastic Dual-Mag pickups! If you re looking for a strat that has a bit more balls, without immediately becoming an unguided missile, these pickups are your new favorite set. They match perfectly with the resonant Alder body and thanks to the Tone-Saver bleed you can use your volume knob to your heart s content without losing your tone.
